During the past year a number of cybersecurity-related meetings, workshops, and discussions among the DOE Office of Science, Office of the CIO, Lab Directors, and CIOs, and workshops occurred. From these activities a growing, grass-roots community of researchers has emerged that have been regularly meeting by teleconference to discuss and refine ideas for establishing a visionary, science-based Cyber-Security program to benefit the broad needs of the DOE.
One result of these discussions is a set of draft white papers describing a Cyber Security Research and Development (R&D) program that the community would like to pursue. A series of public “Town Hall” meetings is being organized to discuss and refine this cybersecurity R&D roadmap. The first meeting was held at Argonne National Laboratory on February 11-13, 2008. The second meeting will be held at Oak Ridge National Laboratory on June 30 - July 2, 2008.
The agenda is now available, including keynote talk titles and biographies.
All meetings will occur on site at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in the Conference Center co-located upstairs from the Visitor Center in the Tennessee Room (202A, B and C).
Here are a couple of maps for navigating on site at ORNL, getting to ORNL from the Knoxville Airport and other maps of the area.
